With many thanks to Yasmin from Australia for sharing all the stunning creations…

Nest Rest

The Nestrest is a stunningly beautiful hanging chair designed by Daniel Pouzet and Fred Frety for Dedon. It is a large lounger that is completely constructed by hand using aluminium and Polyethylene strips. The material choice means that the structure is strong, weatherproof and will protect its inhabitants from UV rays. The Nestrest can also hold a whopping 625 kilograms of weight (Just make sure the tree branch you attach it to can also!!)

The exterior is available in chalk (White) or Natural and the interior cushions come in a whole variety of colours so you can customise your nest to your taste. If you aren’t too keen on heights there is also a standing Lounger available so you can stay firmly planted on the ground.

The Hermitage – Treehotel Sweden

Ever wondered what it would be like to live in a nest? Well this may be a little larger, a little more weather proof and a hell of a lot more comfortable!

The Bird’s Nest is one of the amazing structures built as part of the Tree Hotel in Harads. This is a truly unique concept for a hotel. Each structure has been designed by Scandinavian Architects as a response to the surrounding landscape with great consideration given to ecological values in both construction, location, materials and the functionality of each “room”.

The success of the first rooms has allowed the hotel to expand, new rooms were scheduled to open this year. I for one, cannot wait to see what the new additions are!

The Treehouse Song

When I woke
I took the backdoor to my mind
and then I spoke
I counted all of the good things you are

and that list of charms was
longer than my chain of broken hearts
and when the day was done
I figured I had already lost
from the start – from the start

I was gonna love you till the end of all daytime
and I was gonna keep all our secret signs and our lullabies
I was made to believe that our love would grow old
we were gonna live in a treehouse and make babies
and we were gonna bury our ex-lovers and their ghosts
baby we were made of gold

so many times
we drank fine wine in one swallow
and in those late nights
we painted our walls bright yellow

We hope the Ane Brun is getting better soon…
