Dear Baum,
The first time I’ve listened to “Beggars and thieves!” I said to myself “Yes! Finally! Baum made a TREEsong!” but than I realized that instead of trees you’re singing about streets! OH No! 🙁
I would like to ask you to correct this typo in your lyrics because it would work much better with “All these trees” than “Oh this streets“! And it almost sounds the same. It’s gonna be even more “massiv” with “trees” instead of “streets”!
Can you make a special-Version for MyTree.TV and www.newTree.org? Because there is much more hope in a tree than in a street.
A tree will grow and a street is just a place of pollution.
Thank you for considering a change in your lyrics.
Have a treetastic day and keep it green!
Stefan
P.S. Your new Album is treetasic anyway. But an upright man would be able to change his lyrics for the good cause.
Because we need more trees on this planet and not more streets! 😉
BEGGARS&THIEVES (Lyrics)
Oh city, born pretty, all shiny empire’s superstars
You change us to giddy and tiny self-creating avatars
We’re fighting this pity cause maybe we will wrestle motorcars
And all things wil be gone by tomorrow
Oh, these streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
All the streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
Oh city, bright halo, my lover, hugging our lonely hearts
You spit out, you swallow, you cover our lives with plastic cards
We steal and we borrow leftovers off the glory Boulevard
And all things pass by tomorrow
Oh, these streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
All the streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
Beggars and thieves!
Beggars and thieves!
Beggars and thieves!
Take what it needs
The sun goes down for me behind the big city lights
And we can’t sleep
Oh, these streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
All the streets will gather hopes and longings
And our souls will disappear in smoke
