The Frog Effect
Many people speak about the butterfly-effect. When a butterfly is moving his wings somewhere in Africa it can have an effect somewhere else on the world and become a storm or even a hurricane. However, last night I’ve saved the live of a frog who was just about to cross a road here in Bern – Switzerland. It would have been a question of time and it would be as flat as a pancake under the wheel of a car.
And now imagine the following situation: Exactly this frog will eat the butterfly who actually – unintentionally – wanted to create the next tsunami with the movement of his tiny wings.
Does it matter to take care of the weak beings in need?
I guess this frog was quite happy to reach the other side of the street. Well, does a frog know what’s going on? Did he realize that he was in danger? I don’t know it and the size of his brain might look quite small. But there are millions of synapses after all. We only know that we can not speak to each other. But maybe we should just try to listen to our surrounding not with our ears but with our heart. Because I think the frog was smiling at me when I told him “good bye” …

You must not lose faith in humanity. Humanity is an ocean; if a few drops of the ocean are dirty, the ocean does not become dirty.
