How tired is our earth?

How tired is our earth?

This is a short interview with Brice Garreau

Who are you and why do you support TiredEarth?
I am an environmental activist whose concern is the protection of the land and I work as a reporter with the tired earth site. The reasons for my support of the tired earth are:

1- This site is a free media.

2- it uses all experts in related fields.

It also supports activists and individuals who do not own public or private media.

Other features of this site include the following: Supports humanitarian, humanitarian activities for humanity and the future of the planet. It even uses the terms of religions and sects in the direction of international unity.
Its main concern is the environment and the future of human beings. Rather than supporting a particular political or intellectual current, TiredEarth advocates right thinking and right behavior.  Most importantly, it is a private media that is made up of all members and all environmental activists and has no centralized or organized management.

What are the goals of TiredEarth?
The goals of this site can be seen in the description of the site of this group or in the social networks related to this site, but in short, this site and its members seek to solve environmental problems by informing the public and demanding from senior officials all over the world.
We are residents of a kind and caring planet called Earth; a planet with a lot of water and soil, with a lot of creatures, some too tiny to see, some too big to ignore. To make a better life, mankind has made a lot of efforts; however, these efforts has had many side effects that mankind was not aware of.

We have polluted water and soil, ruined forests, made changes to the climate, killed or caused death to many species of animals. Thus, the planet Earth is really tired now.

Tiredearth is a nonprofit and apolitical group trying internationally to inspire, improve awareness, get motivated hearts together, and increase the hope for a shiny future. Guided by science and experience, we try to solve urgent threats with practical solutions through innovating ways. We believe prosperity and environmental stewardship must take step by step and we are sure we can accomplish this mission together.

Future belongs to our children and begins at this very moment.

Thanks to what our fathers have done in recent centuries; we are deprived of many great things. We will not do the same thing to our children. we hold ourselves accountable to our children and all creatures that have right to live in this planet and consume natural resources. Moreover, together we will do our best to heal the pains the Tired Earth is suffering. Your ideas, concerns, opinions are welcomed and we will be pleased to share your media.

The last days there are many pictures of natural disasters. Is climate change also felt in France?
In France, the effects of global warming are starting to be felt, of course. But compared to the melting ice in the Arctic or the resurgence of severe fires in California, these changes can seem painless. Does this mean that France will be spared? Alas no. While attention has rightly been focused on the most severely affected areas, France will also experience major upheavals in the decades to come.

With our 3,400 km of coastline, for example, we have good reason to worry about rising water levels. “Climate models predict an average sea level rise in Europe of 0.3 to 0.6 meters in the most favorable scenario”, explains to Numerama, Ybele Hoogeveen, specialist in climate change and bio-economy at within the European Environment Agency (EEA).

There are many nuclear power plants in France. What would be an alternative energy source?

France does not have enough energy resources (gas, oil or coal) to produce its electricity. This, combined with the oil crisis of the 1970s, is the reason for the development of nuclear energy in France.
The number of nuclear reactors in France are:
In France, nuclear power is the leading source of electricity production and consumption. It comes from 56 reactors of different power levels constituting a fleet spread over the entire territory.
The main problem of nuclear energy is:
Climate change or nuclear danger? Nuclear power is an excessively dangerous energy, as the Chernobyl accidents and, more recently, Fukushima accidents have shown. In France, many accidents, incidents and anomalies are regularly revealed at nuclear power plants.
Why does France use nuclear energy?
Nuclear power ensures the energy security of France and part of the European Union. Nuclear energy provides 30% of the electricity of the European Union and makes it possible to reduce the dependence on fossil fuels, polluting and imported.

What does the future look like if people keep going like this?

New research indicates that today’s societies are failing to appreciate the magnitude of threats posed by biodiversity loss, the climate crisis and ecological excesses.

The world’s population has doubled from 1970 to today, reaching nearly 7.8 billion, and is expected to reach around 10 billion by 2050.

The world’s population has doubled from 1970 to today, reaching nearly 7.8 billion, and is expected to reach around 10 billion by 2050. This means that more people are generating more food insecurity, land degradation, pollution and loss of biodiversity.
Humanity’s consumption, as a percentage of the Earth’s regenerative capacity, has increased from 73% in 1960 to over 170% today. With COVID-19, this overshoot has fallen to 56% above Earth’s regenerative capacity, meaning that between January and August 2020, humanity consumed as much as Earth can renew itself throughout the year.
On the other hand, there is also climate change, which requires a total exit from fossil fuels. Humanity has already exceeded global warming by 1°C this century and will likely exceed 1.5°C between 2030 and 2052. Even if all nations honor their commitments to the Paris Agreement, warming could continue. between 2.6°C and 3.1°C in 2100.

Thanks for your answers and good luck with TiredEarth.
